What should we do if the toy gets dirty?
Method 1: Required materials: a bag of coarse salt (large-grain salt) and a plastic bag
Put the dirty plush toy into the plastic bag, add an appropriate amount of coarse salt, then tie the opening and shake vigorously. After a few minutes, the toy will be clean. Let's see if the salt has turned black.
Remember: It's not washing but absorbing!! It can also be used for different lengths of plush toys; fur collars and cuffs; it can also be used for car seat cushions (just pour the salt on the cushion and rub it vigorously). The "Ways from Home" program has introduced this method before.
Principle: It takes advantage of the adsorption effect of salt (sodium chloride) on dirt. Because salt has a strong disinfecting effect, it not only cleans the toy but also effectively kills bacteria and viruses. You can draw lessons from this and use this method to "clean" small things like plush collars, car interior plush cushions, etc. 
Method 2: Required materials: water, silk and wool detergent, soft brush (or other tools can be used as substitutes)
Put water and silk and wool detergent in a basin. Use a regular soft brush or other tools to stir the water in the basin to create abundant foam. Then, use the brush dipped in the foam to clean the surface of the plush toy. Be sure not to get too much water on the brush. After cleaning the surface of the plush toy, wrap it with a bath towel and put it in a basin filled with clean water for pressing and washing.
This can remove the dust and detergent from the plush toy. Then, put the plush toy in a basin with fabric softener and let it soak for a few minutes. Wash it several times in a basin filled with clean water until the water becomes clear. Wrap the clean plush toy with a bath towel and put it in the washing machine for gentle dehydration. After dehydration, shape and comb the plush toy and place it in a ventilated area to dry.
When drying, it is recommended to do so in a ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight as it may cause discoloration. This method is suitable for larger plush toys and plush toys that can make sounds.
Method 3: Suitable for larger plush toys
Buy a packet of baking soda and put it and the dirty plush toy in a large plastic bag. Tie the bag tightly and shake it vigorously. You will gradually notice that the plush toy becomes cleaner. Finally, the baking soda powder will turn grayish-black due to the adsorption of dirt and can be removed by shaking it off. This method is suitable for larger plush toys and plush toys that can make sounds.
Method 4: Suitable for electronic and sound-related plush toys
To prevent the small parts of the plush toy from wearing out, stick the parts of the plush toy with tape and put it in a laundry bag. Select the rubbing washing method to wash it, shake it dry, and hang it in a cool and shady place to dry. When drying, you can gently pat the plush toy to make its fur and filling fluffy and soft, so that the shape of the plush toy after cleaning can also recover better.
When washing with water, we usually add an appropriate amount of detergent to the water for disinfection. While washing, you can also add an appropriate amount of laundry powder or laundry liquid for disinfection, achieving antibacterial and dust-proof functions.

[Hand washing]
Prepare a basin of water, pour in the cleaning agent and stir until it is completely dissolved. Then, put the fluffy toys in and squeeze them with your hands to allow the cleaning agent to penetrate. After that, pour out the wastewater and rinse the toys with clean water. Wrap the fluffy toys with a clean dry cloth for a few minutes to absorb some of the water, then dry them in the sun or let them air dry. It is also a good option to let them be exposed to sunlight.
[Water washing]
Before washing it directly in the washing machine, you need to first put the fluffy toys in a laundry bag. Follow the general washing procedure. Using cold washing detergent is more effective than washing powder and is less likely to damage the fabric. If you use a general dual-purpose shampoo, it is also a good choice. After washing, wrap it with a dry towel and then drain the water to avoid damaging the surface.
[Wiping]
Use a soft sponge or a clean dry cloth, dip it in the diluted neutral cleaner to wipe the surface. Then, wipe it with clean water again.
[Dry cleaning]
You can send it directly to a dry cleaning shop for cleaning, or go to a plush toy specialty store, purchase specialized dry cleaning agents for plush toys and clean them at home. [Sun exposure method]
Sun exposure is the simplest and most labor-saving method for cleaning plush toys. Ultraviolet rays can effectively kill some invisible bacteria, ensuring the basic hygiene condition of the plush toy. However, it should be noted that this method is only suitable for plush toys with lighter colors because the fabric and material are different, and some may easily fade the plush. When exposed to the sun, it should be placed outdoors. If the sunlight passes through the glass, it will not have any sterilization effect. Frequently exposing plush toys to the sun is very good.
[Disinfection method]
For plush toys that have been used for a longer time, there are more bacteria on the surface and inside. Simply rinsing with clean water no longer achieves the cleaning effect. At this time, disinfection treatment should be carried out using a cleaning agent. While washing, we can add an appropriate amount of detergent or washing liquid for disinfection treatment to achieve antibacterial and dust-proof functions.
During the drying process after disinfection and washing, you must intermittently tap the plush toy to make its surface and fillings fluffy and soft, restoring the shape as before the cleaning.
